Jesus Fucking Christ

Barcelona was wonderful and I cant wait to go back! The weather was perfect, the people I met were awesome and I could definately get used to the vegan cake there.

Right now I am in Valencia with Maurine celebrating Falles. I leave to head back to Barcelona very early on the 20th and then I will catch a flight to Morocco on the 21st. I am very excited about seeing Morocco but a little nervous too. I am sure it will be fun but I am somewhat pressed for time so things are stressful. I have way more than enough money so that helps but i dont like feeling like I have to be in places by a certain time. At the very least I will be coming back to Spain April 3rd or 5th and then Ill be off to Paris again. The date for my arrival in Paris has been set but I am not telling when so my friends in Paris can just wake up to me in their house! Haha. Creepy.

I have a few pictures to share with you too....

Ill start with a little thing I did for SG that is kind of interesting to me. I took pictures of me with no makeup and then after each step of application. I should just stop wearing makeup. I look exactly the same!

Pictres from Barcelona: Some good, some bad, some silly.

Falles has been interesting to say the least. Maurine and I have been wandering the city watching children light explosives in the streets. The city itself is like a war zone without the blood. There are explosions at all hours, people running and yelling everywhere and if your not careful, you might get hit with a flying firecracker. Its crazy and its only going to get more insane on Thursday when they burn everyting.

My feelings for this festival are mixed. I think its good to see once in your life but I will never come back for it again. Too much noise, too many people, and its not like you can escape it. The thing about Falles that makes it so differnt from other festivals is that it is city wide. Every neighborhood has a party so even if you want to get away from the noise, you cant. That said, it is also a lot of fun to watch childred play with lighters and matches....

Most of you know how much I hate children. You can put the cutes kid in the world in front of me and usually i wont even bat an eye, but the kids here are sooo fucking cute i could puke. They all have these costumes that somehow make their discusting kid-ness melt away. Take it in because this probably isnt going to happen ever again....

Maurine and I went tree climbing too! Fun, Fun!!

I went dumpster diving, otherwise known as skipping. Yummy.

Chaos and Fun

There are a lot of things I want to cover in this entry but I dont have time so I am just going to throw as much out there as I possibly can in a few short minutes.

1. If you dont like what I have to say in my blog DONT READ IT! Really, its that simple. I probably dont even keep this blog for you so I dont give a shit if your feelings are hurt or if you find it interesting or not. Chances are you mean nothing to me and therefore your opinions do not matter.

The internet is a funny place where everything is open to interpretation. Just because I make a statement about someone/thing doesnt mean its about you, especally if you are not named! So, get over yourself. You are not as important as you think you are.

2. Barcelona is beautiful. I have been in a tanktop the past few days and eating fruit in the sun. Perfect. I have had the joy of spending my days with Maureen, she is here from DC for a few weeks. We have wandered the city, gone on shopping sprees and enjoyed eachothers company while making fun of other tourists. We even had our pictures taken by a group of tourists yesterday. Im not sure why but it was funny.

3. Lucie, Angela, Elia, and Teressa are great girls I have not seen enough of. Char put me in contact with Lucie and I have to say I am very greatful for it. They are wonderful ladies and I plan to spend more time with them when I get back!

4. Julio is an interesting character to say the least. I have been staying with him for a week now and I have enjoyed it. He likes to say really chilly shit but its mostly just to get a reaction out of people so I can deal with it. I will be his guest again when I come back in April and I am excited about it.

5. I leave for Valencia early tomorrow morning with Maureen. We will be there for three days for Las Falles. Its a festival where they burn a bunch of stuff and set off fireworks for five days straight. I like fire so this will be fun.

6.After Valencia, its back to Barcelona to catch a flight to Morocco! Yay! Im hoping it will be warm and sunny there too! Ill be there for just over two weeks before I come back here.

7. I miss my friends. I got a letter from Phil the other day, emails from Flynn and Jake, messges from Trey and Tina and they all make me miss my friends. Maureen has so many stories of what everyone is up to and it makes me miss them so much. I wish you all could be here to share all of this with me.

Overall I am much happier than I have been since I left Paris. The people I have met in Barcleona and the city itself make me extreamly happy. Having the sun helps too!

I have a few pictures to post but cant right now so as usual, youll have to wait!

xoxox

Oh yeah, and Its Welches birthday today. I dont have his email so if someone could tell him happy birthday for me, that would be great. Thanks! (Or if you are reading this Welch: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! :hugs: )

Pictures of Me....ish.

So I really need to stop falling asleep with my camera sitting right next to me. People just cant resist taking pictures of people sleeping. Now I think I have one of the most flattering pictures of me ever!

Notice the tissue stuffed in my nose to keep from leaking onto my sleepingbag. Sexy. This is me exhausted and sick. I love it.

I had a really fancy lunch/dinner the other day. So fancy in fact, I decided to take a picture of it. Its the first vegan food I have had outside of the lentil soup I make myself every day.

Here are a few other pictures to look at. None of them are of the city because Madrid sucks.

And then there is me, trying to fold laundry and not to look annoyed. I do like my pants though!

Last but not least: What I do when I get really bored....

My life can be so sad.

Spain in General

Wow. So Spain is not what I had expected at all. Maybe its becasue I havent been feeling well, maybe its because my expectations are too high and maybe its because people just suck.

I will apologize now for ranting even more. The past week or so has been one monumental disappointment after another and I think it has put me into a bad mood. My cold still hasnt gone away completely and I just dont think its going to anymore.

Madrid is like an american city with too many tourists and everyone speaks spanish. Everything seems to be striving to be american. Lame. There are so many big business, big box stores I could vomit.

All I want now is a hot bath, a glass of nice wine and to have a real discussion about anything that amounts to more than "yeah, I used to be vegetarian..." or "Ikea has some great sales going right now!" Shoot me. Please. Im begging you....

Or even better, something that goes beyond "Wow. You spend 20 euros a week! Thats it!?! How do you manage to experience a culture without spending money? It sounds to me like to dont experience anything." Yes, you are right. I havent experienced anything at all since I got here. I cant beleive I have lived 22 years and Im just now finding out that REAL culture is in bars and shopping centers! Holy shit. My mind is blown! (Please read into this: Go Fuck Yourself you spoiled, brianwashed, twit.)

I did meet up with a girl from SG here. She was very sweet and I think Ill be staying with her in Valencia for Las Falles. Liv has been my only glimmer of light since I got here. And if everything goes as hoped, I will be able to leave tomorrow for Barcelona.

I do not expect every city I visit to be another San Francisco or Paris. Please dont think that my expectations are that high. I would like, however, for people to have an interest in the city they live in. Some suggestions of things to do or places to go outside of Plaza Mayor. Maybe knowing someone from the country your staying in instead of being american and hanging out with nothing but americans!!!

Sigh. Sorry. I know that ranting usually just makes it worse but I have to get it out somehow.

Lets focus on the good things!

I get to leave for Barcelona soon! If I leave early, this means that I cant shoot with DiazArri which would be a huge bummer but worthy sacrifice to get out of here. I have a few different people to hangout with when I get there and someone to stay with that seems awesome.

Char seems to really be getting things together for traveling with me next month and I love her for it. I want to go straight to Turkey and spend the whole month of May there. It would be a really awesome way to spend my birthday.

I found a beautiful wallet and a few gifts for people at home. I thought I should get myself a gift since I havent spent much money and havnet aquired too many things.

Jake is going to meet me in June!! It changes a few things in my plan but its fine. I am soooo excited to see him.

Maureen will be in Barcelona on Tuesday! Sweet hangouts are in order for sure!

I found new pants, again. I got new ones in Paris but i kind of tore them too. oops. The new ones are grey and super cute. Finding not ugly pants in europe is pretty difficult. I know that just means that my pants are ugly to them but whateves!

And to take the cake... I have found someone to travel with for a few days in Morocco. He is going to be driving around the country, through the deserts and into the cities for only a few days at a time! If I dont get along with him after a few days, I cant just go to the nearest town or city and make a new plan! Its going to be pretty cheap and hopefully a lot of fun!
